Current Openings

We’re currently looking for volunteers who wish to support Eco Interpreters with their enthusiasm and personal talents and skills in one or more of the following areas:

Tasks:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Eco Interpreters’ mission and goals.
  • Create engaging and informative content across social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Manage the organisation’s social media accounts, including posting regular updates, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring engagement metrics.
  • Research and stay updated on current trends, news, and developments related to environmental issues and sustainability to inform content creation.
  • Collaborate with the core team to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  • Engage with followers and supporters, fostering a sense of community and encouraging participation in Eco Interpreters’ initiatives and events.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English. (Knowing some Spanish would be ideal as it’s currently the language used for internal communication.)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively.
  • Interest in environmental issues, advocacy for indigenous rights, and sustainability.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices for content creation, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Ability to work mostly independently in a remote team environment.
  • Self-discipline to set and follow your own schedule.

Time commitment: 

  • Around 1,5 hours per week 

Tasks:

  • Research, prepare, and submit grant proposals to secure funding from foundations and government agencies.
  • Manage the reporting process for grants, ensuring all deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
  • Develop and manage sponsorship opportunities.
  • Create partnerships and collaborations to enhance the organization’s reach.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events or campaigns.
  • Coordinate with the social media and communications team to ensure consistent messaging and promotion.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities adhere to legal regulations, ethical standards, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and, ideally, Spanish.
  • Strong grant writing skills, including the ability to write clear, persuasive, and compelling proposals.
  • Knowledge of the grant application process, including research, submission, and compliance.
  • Understanding of fundraising strategies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling proposals, letters, and donor communications.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
  • Interest in environmental issues, advocacy for indigenous rights, and sustainability.
  • Ability to work mostly independently in a remote team environment.
  • Self-discipline to set and follow your own schedule according to your personal availability.

Time commitment:

  • Around 4 hours per month

Tasks:

  • Assist team members with administrative needs, including research.
  • Assist with data entry and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and contact lists.

Requirements:

  • High attention to detail.
  • Diligence and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn new processes as needs evolve.

Time commitment:

  • Around 2 hours per month

Tasks

  • Write well-researched and engaging articles to be published on the Eco Interpreters website, aligning with the organisation’s mission and voice.
  • Tailor articles to educate the public, raise awareness, or mobilise readers to participate in environmental protection efforts.
  • Highlight case studies, success stories, and innovative solutions being implemented by individuals, groups, or organisations making significant contributions to environmental protection.
  • Reach out to and interview key figures, experts, or organisations working in environmental protection to feature their work in blog posts.
  • Fact-check information and sources to ensure accuracy and credibility.

Requirements:

  • This role requires a combination of strong writing skills, environmental awareness, and an ability to engage and inform readers about important issues and initiatives in the environmental sector.

Commitment: 

  • One article or written interview per quarter would be appreciated.
